This is a school organized event for which the PTO contributed funds to support a lower cost for  students/families!

WHO: McCarthy Eighth Grade Students ONLY
WHAT: Mel's Funway Park Field Trip
WHEN: Wednesday, June 10, 2026 - RAIN OR SHINE
TIME: 9:00am - 2:15pm - Students will return in time to take their regular bus home.

COST: $45.00- Admission, activities, lunch, and transportation costs are included.
Please reach out to your guidance counselor or Dr. Parks if financial assistance is needed. 

LUNCH: A catered lunch and ice cream is included in the cost of the day!
Choice of: Burger/Cheeseburger/Veggie Burger or 2 Hotdogs + Soda, Lemonade, Ice Tea, or Bottled Water, as well as a Bag of chips and Small soft serve ice cream.

• Batting Cages

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

1. Students are discouraged from bringing any items of value on the buses and/or to the venue. Students will be solely responsible for any items that are stolen, lost or damaged.
2. Students must be mindful that they represent McCarthy Middle School and the town of Chelmsford. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
3. Students must be dressed appropriately. The student handbook applies whether students are in school or on a trip.

School staff will be in attendance at the park and will act as chaperones for the trip.

The permission slip (Funway Field Trip & consent 2026) and $45.00 payment must be returned to your science teacher by Friday, May 15th. Checks should be made payable to McCarthy Middle School.
